to buy and web sites to visit!
Amazon is a very secure
way of buying books over the Internet. Their prices are competitive, and
their delivery service is swift. We say this from personal experience
of buying from Amazon!
- You can buy
any of the books listed here by clicking on the appropriate link. This
will take you to that book's page at either Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk.
You can then view the details of the book, and decide if you
want to buy it online with your credit card.
- To buy in US
dollars, follow the Amazon.com link by clicking on this
under the book's description. You can also click on the book's title
to go to Amazon.com
- To buy in UK
pounds sterling, follow the Amazon.co.uk link by clicking
on this symbol
under the book's description.
- You are not
committed to buying anything simply by clicking on a link. This simply
allows you to view the price and other details about the book before
you decide whether or not to purchase.
Clicking on a link
opens up a new browser window and takes you to the appropriate Amazon
page. To return here, simply close the Amazon browser window.
of the Seychelles
Adrian Skerrett & Ian Bullock. 320 pages, publ. April 2001.
The latest and the best! Every bird that has been recorded in the
Seychelles. Excellent field guide and well worth the £25 ($27.65)
of the Indian Ocean Islands
Ian Sinclair et al. 176 pages, publ July 1998.
Covers much more than the Seychelles, but is an excellent field
guide to the region. This was the book that we used on our trip
(Skerret's book was not available). Now reduced to £14.39.

We got by fine with
maps from the car hire firms, but there are other maps available. We managed
to buy the OS map of Mahe in Victoria.. it was allegedly out of print.
Here's some you could try...
Travel Map; Seychelles 1: 95 000 ;
Survey World Maps; Sheet 7: Seychelles (Mahe) 1: 50,000 ;
Survey World Maps; Sheet 8: Seychelles (Praslin) 1: 30,000
