Who does what in YOC
Membership & its benefits
Our
organisation,
like many others, is simple, made up of volunteers and is designed
to carry out the functions of the Club:
- Providing
a meeting point for like-minded people in the York area.
- Recording
the birds in our designated Recording
Area
- Publishing
the results
- Giving
opportunities for people of all ages and levels of skills
to improve their knowledge and enjoyment of bird watching
and share this with others.
Membership
is open to anyone who accepts the aims of the Club. Click

Club, looking after its finances and liaising with other organisations.

Membership
benefits and rates
Although
non-members are welcome to attend our meetings and our field trips,
we
do ask that people who regularly attend become members of the Club.
Also, members have priority over non-members on our weekend and longer
trips when space is limited.
Members
of the Club have the following benefits:
- Preferential entry
to indoor meetings (Members pay £1 for entry to meetings
where we have a speaker; non-members pay £2).
- Opportunity
to take part in weekend trips and social events (members have
priority over non-members to attend field events).
- A free
copy of our Annual Report.
- Free
participation
in our email list (used for notifying everyone on the list of sightings
and other relevant information).
- The right
to vote on issues relevant to the club and to attend the Annual
General Meeting.
- The right
to be elected to office in the Club.
